Patricia earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida International University and master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Nova Southeaster University. Following a later in life career change to the counseling field, Patricia developed a passion for working with clients who present with substance abuse disorder and dual diagnosis. Patricia uses client-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based therapeutic techniques, tailoring her treatment approach to each client’s specific needs. She has extensive training in both dialectical behavior therapy and EMDR therapy, and applies other evidence-based practices including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, to help clients meet their treatment goals and learn to live a substance-free life in recovery.
