Helpful Information
Once you are admitted…
Due to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) all patient information, including presence in treatment, is protected. Please be advised that each client has the right to limit any person from obtaining information regarding their care. Wayside House cannot confirm nor deny the presence of any client in any level of treatment without expressed, written permission from the client. This consent can be initiated, changed or revoked at any time during a client’s treatment. Wayside House will make every effort to include appropriate family members in a client’s care. However, each client has the authority to limit or stop Wayside House from communicating with another party regarding their treatment. Please be aware that a completed consent to release information does not automatically guarantee the release or obtainment of information.
Mail: Clients may receive mail at any time. Mail will be checked and given to clients at the discretion of the clinical staff.
Phone Calls: A phone is available to clients after their first 14 days of treatment to make approved phone calls. Clients may sign up to use the phone 3x a week for 10 minute calls. You may not call into Wayside to speak to clients.
Drop Off Times: You may drop off items (for your loved one only) at the following times:
- Saturday: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
- Sunday: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Wednesday 4:00 – 7:00 PM
Items are given to a staff member at the entrance and no visiting with the client will occur.
Money: Clients are allowed to have up to $200 held for them by the Wayside House staff. Clients are given a limited amount of their money per week to purchase snacks and coffee at outside meetings. Clients are also allowed to use their money for supervised, weekly trips to Walgreens to purchase toiletries and other approved items.
Visitation: Clients may have visitors once approved by their therapist. The client will reach out to you before visitation weekend to let you know you have been approved. Please see attached Visitor Guidelines for additional information.
Disclaimer: The following are general policies for clients in treatment at Wayside House. Because treatment is individualized, the following rules may apply differently. Please be assured that changes to the policies are made in the best interest of the client and their treatment.
Visitor Guidelines
Family Group: 12:15- 2:00 PM
Visitation: 2:00 – 4:00 PM
- Visitors must be approved by a client’s therapist in order to visit. Clients must confirm plans with approved visitors by calling them prior to Saturday group. No emergency phone calls to check if a visitor is permitted or changing of plans is allowed.
- Attendance to the Family Group beforehand is a mandatory requirement for visitation. Family group occurs from 12:30 – 2:00 PM on Saturday. Please arrive at 12:15 to have time to check in. No entry to group will be allowed if you arrive late.
- Visitors must enter through the main entrance off Federal Highway.
- All visitors must report to the Client Advocate on duty, where it will be determined if they are approved for visitation. If they are approved they must sign in and follow all procedures.
- No cell phones, personal items, or purses/bags etc. are permitted. Items must be left in your vehicle or checked into the Client Advocate’s office. Wayside House, Inc. is not responsible for items left in your vehicle during visitation.
- Visitors may not bring any food or beverages into Wayside House.
- Visitation is permitted inside the house and in common areas. Only clients are permitted in bedrooms.
- No smoking during visitation unless during a scheduled smoking break. (Smoking break usually occurs from 2:00 – 2:15 PM).
