Why Choose Wayside House?
Wayside House is a nonprofit comprehensive addiction treatment program serving women since 1974. Women, ages 18 and above, including pregnant women, receive all the services they need to recover and thrive, regardless of ability to pay. We accept a variety of insurance, as well.
Set in a beautiful, private, peaceful environment, Wayside House uses the latest therapies for treating addiction and co-occurring disorders. We offer several programs within our center, and a multi-faceted approach to treatment that is rooted in 12-step traditions.
At Wayside House, we believe in empowering women and helping them achieve successful recovery from addiction. We have a 28-bed residential facility for women 18 and over. Our residential treatment program is a safe, welcoming place to recover. Women-only treatment centers have been shown to be more effective, resulting in more successful long-term recovery. For women who have experienced trauma or other co-occurring disorders, our women’s addiction treatment center is an ideal environment to safely recover.
Residential treatment consists of a 90-day program. This women’s drug and alcohol rehab provides comprehensive therapies and counseling in a homelike environment. There are two phases to the program, and during this time women will develop the skills and strategies to remain clean and sober.
For those seeking intensive services without the residential aspect, Wayside House has a Partial Hospitalization Program that allows you to return home each night or stay in an apartment during treatment.
Our women’s drug and alcohol rehab also includes an intensive outpatient program that is highly structured and consists of a 24-session therapeutic program lead by experienced clinicians. A less structured outpatient program follows this with weekly counseling and group sessions to help women maintain their sobriety and get support and encouragement.
Support continues through weekly aftercare meetings that address multiple topics such as relapse prevention, family re-integration, and re-entry into the workforce.
Hundreds of women who “graduate” from Wayside House remain connected for many years through out very active alumnae program.
What To Expect At Wayside House
Our facility is a beautiful, peaceful home with gardens, a gazebo, fruit trees and more, tucked away in a private setting.
Once you have begun residential treatment at Wayside House, you will have a structured schedule of groups, individual counseling sessions, classes and holistic therapies. In addition, you will attend twelve step meetings outside the program, giving you an opportunity to develop healthy friendships with other women in recovery. There will be time to pause and reflect throughout the day, and participate in fun, healthy activities that allow you to experience how full and satisfying life can be without drugs and alcohol.
During the second phase of treatment, you will spend more time outside the campus, perhaps job searching or investigating educational opportunities. You will have more time to spend with those you have met in twelve step meetings. There will be increased freedom, responsibility, and challenges; however, you will have the ongoing support of staff and peers during this time, as well as continued therapeutic activities at Wayside House.
