Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
What Is A Partial Hospitalization Program?
PHP addiction treatment falls between inpatient and outpatient rehab, but still involves a high level of supervision and structure. PHP is an ideal middle ground if you’re looking for a program that provides the structure of a residential program and the flexibility of an outpatient program. You can choose to live in one of our apartments during treatment or return home to your family each night during treatment.
Wayside House’s PHP program provides all of the therapies and many of the holistic services provided in our residential program, but without the long-term commitment of residential treatment.
While in our partial hospitalization program, you are treated by our psychiatrist, nurse, and skilled counselors in order to address not only your addiction. but also, the underlying issues that can lead to relapse.
Partial hospitalization programs are great for those who have family or other responsibilities, but still want and need the care they receive in residential treatment.

Intensive Outpatient
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) can be tremendously beneficial to women who are looking to strengthen their sobriety. At Wayside House, we offer intensive outpatient for women in the form of an 8-week, 24-session highly structured therapeutic program. The aim of the program is to teach women sober coping skills and relapse prevention so that they can remain successful in their recovery.
Why Intensive Outpatient Is Suggested After Treatment
Life after treatment can be full of challenges and hurdles. There will be ample opportunities to practice the many skills you learned in treatment, but sometimes it is helpful to have additional support.
After years of active addiction, the newly clean and sober woman may be experiencing a myriad of emotions and situations. Not only that, but she may be faced with old friends or even family members who are actively using. Other issues such as relationships, finances, looking for housing or trying to find job training — all of these things can pile up and cause overwhelming feeling. It is often during these times that relapse is a concern. The temptation to deal with powerful feelings or stressful situations by using may still feel like a strong instinct.
IOP can help you stay committed to your sobriety by offering a supportive place to learn new skills, address issues that may be coming up and provide educational and enriching opportunities for growth.
Outpatient
Wayside House offers a women’s drug and alcohol outpatient program that varies in length depending on the needs of the individual. At the start of the program, each applicant is assessed to determine the best course of action. An individualized treatment plan is developed based on the woman’s unique strengths and weaknesses, and the plan is revisited every 30 days to monitor progress toward goals.
Relapse prevention is a major focus of our outpatient program. Recovery isn’t always easy, and life after treatment can be full of challenges. At Wayside House, we understand this and have designed a program that helps women learn how to cope with these challenges. Women participating in our program can expect an emphasis on learning how to express themselves in healthy ways and developing the problem-solving skills needed to be productive members of society.
